Ingredient
Ragi (finger millet) – 1 cup
Water – 3 cups
Jaggery (or dates) – ½ cup
Boiled sago (sabudana) – ¼ cup
Fox nuts (makhana) – ½ cup
Green cardamoms – 2
Small cinnamon stick – 1
Soaked almonds (peeled) – 12
Basil seeds (sabja seeds) – 2 tablespoons
Banana – 1
Poppy seeds (khus khus) – 1 tablespoon
Method
Step 1: Prepare the Ragi flour

Firstly wash the ragi thoroughly to remove any dirt.

Now spread it on a cotton cloth and let it dry for about 15 minutes.

Once dry, roast it on low heat for 10 minutes until it gives a nutty aroma.

If using ragi flour, dry roast it instead for a few minutes.

Let the roasted ragi cool and grind it into a fine powder using a blender.
Step 2: Make the Mixture

Now take a blender jar, add the roasted ragi powder.

Next add ½ cup makhana, 12 soaked and peeled almonds, ½ cup jaggery, 2 green cardamoms, and a small piece of cinnamon stick.

Now, add 1 banana, 1 tablespoon poppy seeds, and 2 cups of water.

Blend everything into a smooth paste.

Strain the mixture using a fine sieve or muslin cloth to remove any coarse particles.
Step 3: Prepare the Drink

To the strained mixture, add ¼ cup boiled sago (sabudana), 2 tablespoons basil seeds, and ½ cup fox nuts (makhana).

Add ice cubes and mix well for a refreshing touch.
Step 4: Serve

Now pour the cool ragi milk into a serving glass.

Then, sprinkle some extra basil seeds on top for added texture.
