This Peanut Banana Protein Smoothie is a simple homemade smoothie made without milk, yogurt, or packaged protein powder. Soaked peanuts provide plant-based protein and healthy fats, while ripe banana and dates add natural sweetness and a creamy texture.

Ingredients
  

  • ½ cup peanuts
  • 1 ripe banana
  • 2 tablespoons fresh coconut chopped
  • 2 dates preferably soaked
  • 1 cardamom pod
  • 2 teaspoons honey
  • ¾ cup water or as needed

Instructions
 

Soak the Peanuts

  • Place ½ cup peanuts in a bowl and wash them thoroughly with water.
  • Add enough fresh water to cover the peanuts and soak them for 6 hours or overnight.
  • Once the peanuts are well soaked, drain and discard the soaking water.

Prepare the Smoothie

  • Transfer the soaked peanuts to a blender jar.
  • Add 1 ripe banana, 2 soaked dates, 2 tablespoons chopped fresh coconut, and 1 cardamom pod.
  • Pour in approximately ¾ cup water.
  • Blend everything until completely smooth and creamy.
  • Add a little more water if you prefer a thinner smoothie.
  • Add 2 teaspoons honey and blend briefly once again.
  • Pour the smoothie into two glasses and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Soaking the peanuts for 6 hours or overnight makes them softer and easier to blend.
  • Use a ripe banana for the best sweetness and creamy texture.
  • If your dates are firm, soak them in warm water for 10–15 minutes before blending.
  • Cardamom is optional, but it adds a delicious flavour.
  • You can adjust the amount of water according to your preferred smoothie consistency.
  • Taste the smoothie before adding honey because the banana and dates may already provide enough sweetness.
  • For the best taste and texture, consume the smoothie immediately after blending.
