Ingredients

  • Roughly chopped carrot – 1
  • Green peas – 1/2 cup
  • Boiled Sweet potato – 2
  • Chopped ginger – 1 inch  
  • Fresh coriander leaves – 1 tbsp
  • Green chili – 3
  • Curry leaves – 1 sprig
  • Garam masala powder – ½ tsp  
  • Chat masala powder – ¼ tsp
  • Salt – as per taste 
  • Oil
  • Gram flour – 2 tbsp

Method-

  1. In a vegetable chopper, add the roughly chopped carrot, green peas, curry leaves, green chillies, and chopped ginger. Chop until finely mixed.
  2. Heat 1 tsp oil in a pan. Add the chopped vegetables and sauté on medium flame for 4-5 minutes. Ensure they remain crunchy—don’t overcook!
  3. Transfer the sautéed vegetables to a bowl. Let them cool, then add salt, garam masala, chaat masala, and finely chopped coriander. Mix well.
  4. Mash the boiled sweet potatoes and add them to the vegetable mixture. Mix thoroughly.
  5. Gradually add 2 tbsp gram flour (or rice flour) to the mixture for binding. Adjust the amount as needed to achieve a dough-like consistency. Combine well with your hands.
  6. Grease your hands with a little oil to prevent sticking. Take small portions of the mixture, shape them into balls, and then flatten them into tikkis.
  7. Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan. Place the tikkis in the pan and cook for 3-4 minutes on each side until they are golden brown and crispy.
  8. Your Mix Veg Sweet Potato Tikki is ready! Serve with green chutney, yogurt, or your favourite healthy dip.
